Established since in its current location since 1957. the aim of the club is to offer an affordable and active club with a relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, promoting sailing, and other waterborne pursuits and enabling community activities.

The club is located on Weston Shore, perfect for accessing the Solent ports and harbours along the South Coast.

SCS is an RYA approved training centre offering both dinghy and powerboat level 2 training.

Currently there is a limited fleet of dinghies for loan to members, these include Topper’s, RS Quest dinghies a wayfarer and a GP14. There is also a Fox cub cruiser available to borrow, ideal to develop from a dinghy to a cruiser.

There is also a cruiser section and the owners have many different types of yacht including a Fox cub, Centaur, Moody, Elizabethan, Seal, Maxi, UFO and many more.

The club arranges, recreational rallies throughout the Solent destinations as well as further afield to France. The rallies provide an opportunity for social activities at the venue destination, such as BBQ’s, pontoon parties, pub lunches, and general get together and even a night cap on one of the cruisers to help you sleep better!

Southampton Sailing Club owns a fleet of dinghies both for training and recreational sailing. The type of boats we have for this includes a wayfarer, an RS Quest, a GP14 and Toppers.

The club has recently started recreational sailing to enable dinghy sailors time on the water to relax and is ideal for new comers, confidence building and learning new skills.

We have 25 moorings just off of the club maintained professionally by a local mooring contractor. Our moorings are generally for craft that can take the ground on some low water tides; however, we do have a few that can take deeper fin keel yachts.
